• Please turn off outdoor lights when not in use to minimize bugs
• Keep windows and doors shut to minimize bugs
• Put books, games, beach supplies and decor back in their spot
• Communicate any issues, broken or missing items

Please use the carport entry door’s keypad to unlock when arriving & lock when departing. The ground floor has both stairs and elevator access to reach the other floors.
Your unique keypad code will be given to you on your checkin day ahead of arrival to use the week of your stay.

Please do not ship packages to the house. Food, rentals or confirmed in-person deliveries are OK, but if you are shipping via Amazon, FedEx or UPS we cannot guarantee it will arrive to the door. USPS mail will also not deliver and will be held at our postal box. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Many vacation essentials or items you may have forgotten at home can be found locally or down south in Kitty Hawk.
Rental FAQs

We exclusively rent our home through Airbnb May through September. Rental bookings are weekly between June and August (Saturday to Saturday only). Nightly rates range, but are at their peak from late June through early August. Please visit Off the Grid’s Airbnb page to see our availability and plan your trip!

*Apologies, but we do not late check-out. Our cleaning team needs the maximum amount of time to prep our home for the next guest.

Don’t see your preferred dates available? Join our waitlist so we can email you if any weeks open up before we release it publicly. Contact us at offthegridobx@gmail.com with your name, guest count, week preference and any other questions you have!

Our home is pet friendly and stocked with a few dog-essentials for your convenience. Our $300 pet fee includes 1-2 dogs. If you have additional fur-friends you’d like to bring, please reach out to us on Airbnb so we can accommodate you and your group! We will charge added fees for any unmentioned dogs, excessive stains or damage.

Travel/Trip Insurance - IT IS NOT INCLUDED in your booking and we do not offer refunds within 60 days of your stay. PLEASE consider purchasing it if you need flexibility! Renting during prime summer season is a huge investment you have made to take a vacation, we always want you covered.
FYI, you can usually buy travel insurance up to the day before you leave on the trip — sometimes up to the minute before you leave. But it’s better to buy it within 15 days of your initial trip payment/deposit. You’ll have more coverage options if you buy within a certain window.

“The house is excellent. Well-appointed, well-maintained, no issues. The view, however, is exceptional! With beach access just steps away, the view of the ocean from the third floor deck makes you feel as though you are right on the water. Being in Corolla is much more relaxing and enjoyable than being near Duck (which gets pretty heavy with traffic most days). We were near everything we needed from stores to restaurants to places to see. We are very much looking forward to coming back next year!”

“Great family vacation! Off the Grid was the perfect place for our family vacation. There were 9 of us and the house was the perfect size, with each room having their own bathrooms and showers attached. Nick and Chey were great hosts as they were very easy to connect with and responded to all of our messages quickly. They went above and beyond by making us feel right at home with treats for our dogs, a basket of leashes/poop bags and the house has a ton of dog toys if wanted. Where the house is located is a quick walk to the beach or a nice stroll through the neighborhood to the tennis/pickleball courts and very close to a Harris Teeter! The porch offers fantastic views of the ocean and the sunset each night on all levels. The movie theater and pool table offered escapes from the beach and great ways to bond as well as the book nook that is perfect for doing puzzles or diving into a new book! The kitchen was large and fully stocked while also having additional gadgets that we found very useful. Overall we had an amazing time and were very happy with our choice and highly recommend Off the Grid to any big group or family looking for a place in OBX!”

“The owners take a lot of pride in their home and it shows! Very responsive owners and they made sure to clearly communicate ahead of time, checkin details and even answer questions mid-stay without missing a beat. The photos obviously sold me before I booked, because compared to so many run-down rentals this place is stunning. My family’s all adults now and we wanted a nice big house close to the beach! It doesn’t have a pool, but it does have a really private jacuzzi on the second floor patio. We found ourselves perfectly happy with the amount of space inside to hang out. The massive kitchen and private bedrooms with their own bathrooms & TV’s was insanely nice so everyone could escape if they needed to. I would 10/10 recommend this place.”

“The view - the pictures do not do it justice, it is much closer to the ocean than it looks! The bedrooms were roomy and falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves was very pleasant surprise.
During our stay we suggested to the hosts that they might need some new patio furniture and we love how on top of the details they are, in the new photos it looks like they’ve been replaced!
